GALAXY S23 ULTRA floating

TL;DR

  • Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra has been listed by China’s TENAA body.
  • The listing reveals details related to size, weight, battery capacity, RAM, and more.

We already know a lot about the Samsung Galaxy S23 series thanks to leaks and certification listings. Now, another listing may have given us a comprehensive look at the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

MyFixGuide spotted a listing for the Galaxy S23 Ultra on China’s TENAA regulatory body, and we can indeed confirm the filing. The listing for the device (model number SM-S9180) doesn’t give us any images but does dish out plenty of apparent specs.

The listing points to a 6.8-inch 3,088 x 1,440 display, a 4,855mAh battery (likely rated for 5,000mAh typical capacity), 8GB to 12GB of RAM, and 256GB/512GB/1TB of storage. The storage figures in particular would mean double the base storage compared to the S22 Ultra, which started at 128GB.

A better Snapdragon 8 Gen 2?

In terms of the chipset, frequent tipster Ice Universe previously asserted that the Galaxy S23 family will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 clocked to 3.36GHz instead of the standard 3.2GHz. The TENAA filing seems to reflect that change as well, as the phone is listed with an octa-core 3.36GHz chipset (with 2.8GHz medium cores and 2GHz little cores as well).

Other notable specs listed here include the dimensions (163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9mm), 233 gram weight, and 10x optical zoom capabilities.

Speaking of the cameras, TENAA filings sometimes offer incorrect or placeholder details in this regard. It looks like the certification body has done it again, listing a 108MP+12MP+12MP+2MP rear camera system. However, several leaks point to the S23 Ultra adopting a 200MP main camera, two 10MP zoom-focused cameras, and a 12MP ultrawide shooter. So we’re not buying TENAA’s info when it comes to the cameras.
